All clubs within the Port Lincoln Basketball Association have unanimously agreed that all A Mens, B Mens, Womens and A Boys teams will be required to supply a referee each week.

This responsibility will primarily be assigned for the game either before or after your scheduled match. Games will be either the same grade or below, of the grade you are playing in. Scheduling will be provided soon.

Should your team fail to provide a referee for the scheduled match, your team will lose four (4) premiership points.

Message from the President

Before anyone expresses dissatisfaction regarding the teams or clubs they’ve been assigned to, I urge you to step back and consider the position we were in just four to five weeks ago.

At that time, we held an emergency meeting with club presidents, delegates, and the executive to discuss whether the season could even proceed. We were down to two courts, with uncertainty about whether Court 2 could be repaired/available in time. The conversation revolved around which grades might have to be cancelled … or whether we could run the season at all.

Despite those challenges, we’ve managed to proceed with the season, albeit with only two courts.

This has taken an extraordinary amount of effort and collaboration from every club. Let me remind you that while the intent-to-play form asked for your preferred club, it clearly stated that preferences were not guaranteed.

2025 Season

The association and clubs have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to get prepared for the 2025 season.

Due to the showcase court (court 1) not being available for use, we are going ahead with the season and just using two courts. This means that games will have to be played at 8pm each night, as well as a 9pm game on Mondays (A Mens).

We are finally able to announce the game times for each grade (link).

Updated timetable

Due to an issue with the sub-floor under the court surface, we have been advised that Court 1 will not be available for use for the remainder of the season (with the exception of the 4pm timeslots on Monday and Thursday).

What does this mean?

The Port Lincoln Basketball Association, the Port Lincoln Council and the YMCA have agreed that for the last two minor rounds, games can be played at 8pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
We will be updating game times in Basketball Connect tonight (Sunday, 18th February), so please check your scheduled game time in case it has been changed.

Intent to Play form
2025 Summer season

It's not long to go until the start of the 2025 Summer season and we look forward to welcoming the players and all members back.

Whilst we have been liaising with Basketball SA since the start of last season, unfortunately the changes to Basketball Connect that our Association requires to ensure registrations occur smoothly have not been able to be implemented. To alleviate some of the issues we had last season (delayed start and paper scoring), the Executive Committee along with Club Presidents have developed a work-around.

What's changed?

This season, players who are intending to play are required to complete a Google Form (link to form).

1. For families with more than one player, you only need to fill out one form as you can add the additional players by clicking 'Yes' to the question 'Add another player'.

2. Clubs will be provided with the details of any players who have nominated to play for them. NOTE: players are not registered until they have registered with Basketball Connect and paid their fees

3. Clubs will be in touch in mid-September with a link to register to play through Basketball Connect - at which time the registration fee/s will need to be paid.

This email has only been sent to registered players from the 2024 season. The link to the Google Form will also be available on the Port Lincoln Basketball website and Facebook / Instagram pages, so if you know anyone who wants to play - please share this with them!!

Sports Vouchers

We are collecting information about children who have Sports Vouchers they would like to use. Once the Association has received the completed form, we will be able to process the $100 payment back to you in a timely manner.

Should you have any queries regarding this new process, please contact the Club using their email address below.
